Summary

As a formworker, you prepare falsework that provides temporary support structures for forms and undertake formwork. This includes making panels and accessories that mould to form a desired shape with concrete, such as slabs, support beams, columns and walls. You will join the Formwork Apprenticeship programme for the first available intake in 10 blocks of 2 weeks for an 18-month period.You will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects. Your job means working in all weather conditions, and you must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. Successful candidates can progress into AJMs work force (subject to becoming qualified and performance reviews)

 


The role and responsibilities

  • Erecting and dismantling proprietary formwork systems like Doka etc

  • Assemble and fasten materials to make framework, falsework or props.

  • To shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws

  • Build, repair and assemble formworks and falsework structures

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment

  • Able to interpret verbal and written instructions and information

 Skills and experience

  • A valid CSCS card essential
  • Demonstrable interest in and a commitment to becoming a formworker
  • Honest, trustworthy and respectful - Flexible and committed
  • Demonstrates a sound work ethic - Excellent communication skills
  • Practical ability and awareness of working safely
  • Self-motivation and desire to learn
  • Entry Level 3 in Functional Skills or GCSE grade D (3) or above in English and Maths.
  • Willingness to work across London
