The Warehouse Operative is part of the operations team with responsibility for goods in, consolidation and goods out for products passing through the cross dock operation. As directed by the Warehouse operative will ensure both contractual targets are achieved, carrying out all relevant activities safely and securely, whilst observing company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

The role and responsibilities

  • Facilitate the unloading of goods ensuring quality checks are completed before orders are placed onto the system, successfully moving through the cross dock operation before loading onto the correct vehicle for dispatch to the client.
  • Adhering to site security processes and protocols
  • Unloading of supplier vehicles, completing box check against unloading manifest
  • Ensuring all orders are processed onto the system at point of delivery.
  • Ensuring deliveries are received in good condition and fall with required temperature guidelines.
  • Pass orders through the cross dock system in a fast and efficient manner
  • Order marshalling and processing to goods out
  • Carry out warehouse functions in line with company policies, procedures and food hygiene guidelines
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, company policies and procedures and best practice
  • Ensure that customer requirements are fulfilled to the highest possible standards at all times
  • Attend any training as required in compliance with the company’s commitment to investors in people
  • Ensure compliance for Quality and Health & Safety audits
  • Ensure operational housekeeping and overall standards are maintained

  • Previous Warehouse Operative Experience desirable
  • PC Literate on Microsoft office applications desirable
  • Food Safety Awareness Level 2 desirable
