The role and responsibilities

  • To support the delivery of the Council’s digital strategy and drive digital change across Council services.  
  • To support the delivery of digital transformational projects and workstreams across the Council.
  • To technically develop and support the implementation of Microsoft Dyanamics 365 across Council services.
  • Work with and influence colleagues at all levels to promote the benefits of Microsoft Dyanamics and overcome any resistance or conflict.
  • Provide advice on technical solutions to business problems, ensuring service leads have the information and understanding to make decisions.
  • Work in partnership with services to identify and implement opportunities for improvements to service delivery.
  • Work with and managing work being delivered by contractors.
  • Be a positive and effective advocate representing the team across the council and with external organisations.
  • You will gain hands-on experience of Digital Transformation within Local Government by working as part of a team and assisting in the delivery of a quality Digital service within the council.

 Skills and experience

  • 5 GCSEs (especially English, mathematics and a science or technology subject); other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills.
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
  • You will need strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with business representatives and other stakeholders to understand their business requirements and advise how it fits into the overall vision for Brent Council.  Ability to act as an advocate for the Digital Transformation programme with Council and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • You will need to show your interest in local government and the delivery of public services. We will be looking for a flexible and positive approach to work.
