Stray and lost dogs and other pets

If you have lost your dog, please use our online contact form and tell us as much details as you can including:

  • breed
  • gender (if neuter or entire)
  • size
  • colour
  • distinguishing features
  • coat type
  • full/docked tail
  • collar description
  • place lost
  • time and date lost
  • owners contact details.

If your pet is microchipped, we would advise you to alert your microchip database of your missing pet and to ensure the details held on the chip are up to date.

You should also contact local veterinary practices and charity veterinary hospitals.

Our service works Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Should you wish to report a stray dog, or have found one, please call the animal welfare service on 020 8937 5252.

Should you find a stray dog outside of these hours you can call Brent Council on 07903 186920 or The Battersea Dog and Cats Home on 020 7627 9245. They will not provide a collection service.

All dogs collected by us are registered with Battersea Lost Dogs and Cats Home, within 48 hours of collection.

Pictures and details of dogs are also registered on the Dog Lost website

In order to claim a dog, proof of ownership will be required. This is:

  • a photograph of you with the dog
  • proof of your current address that is no more than three months old.

The collector should be over 18 years old unless accompanied by an adult.

Stray dogs will not be released unless a stray dogs fee is paid on or before collection of your pet. After seven days the dog will be eligible for re-homing.
