Capital Letters is a not-for-profit organisation, owned by 13 London Boroughs, including Brent Council. It was launched in 2019 to improve the supply of good quality rented accommodation in London.
Capital Letters procures, allocates and manages privately rented and leased properties on behalf of member councils. This benefits homeless families in contact with councils as Capital Letters place tenants as locally as possible and offer a tenant sustainability service.
It offers Landlords a one-stop service to get properties quickly and efficiently, as well as an excellent cash incentive and insurance package.
The organisation is funded by £38m of Flexible Homelessness Support Grant from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MCLG). It is also supported by London Councils and the London Housing Directors’ Group.
