New council homes

We aim to build 1,000 new council homes and 4,000 affordable homes in the borough over the next five years.

We will be investing £300m and the Mayor of London £114m for the new council homes programme. Brent is receiving one of the highest amount of money from the Mayor out of 26 boroughs in London, as part of the Mayor’s £1bn programme to build ‘a new generation of council homes’.

The council homes will be built on land already owned by the council alongside a small number of new sites. We have already delivered 255 new homes and are in the process of building new developments.

Our council and affordable homes programme in Brent will help to reduce the massive council housing waiting list and residents living in temporary accommodation, providing local people with suitable housing that meets their needs.

As part of this the council are committed to engaging with the local community and listening to any views you may have to help shape and develop your local area. If you have any queries, please contact our Resident Liaison Officer by email at newcouncilhomes@brent.gov.uk.
