Things to read
Brent Libraries at home
If you're finding it hard to get to the library (and live in Brent), we have the ideal solution for you - we can deliver books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and talking books direct to your door, on a regular basis. We can also allow friends and relatives to collect books and other items on your behalf.
We have a good selection of books in large print for people who find ordinary print too small plus we stock a collection of talking books - often read by famous actors and celebrities, and in many languages.
The Brent Libraries at Home service recruits volunteers who take books and other library items to customers.
As a volunteer you will:
- deliver books to customers
- return books and other items to nearby library branches
- keep records of your visits
- travel expenses are paid. You would need to commit two to three hours once every three weeks.
If you are interested in any of the options above please get in touch with the home library service team.
Brent Libraries in the community
Brent Libraries provide books for loan to community venues such as nursing homes, schools, sheltered housing, hostels, youth centres, children's centres and other community venues.
We also provide multiple copies of books for reading groups that meet in community venues.
If you are a community organisation and would like regular loans of books for your reading room please get in touch.
