Suspending a parking bay

Suspensions

The temporary suspension of a parking bay reserves a specific bay or bays for use on a specified day, or part of a specified day, by a specified vehicle.

Apply by post or email

An application for a suspension of a bay must be made 21 days in advance.

Email the form to parking.suspensions@brent.gov.uk or post it to Unit 20-22, Whitby Avenue, Park Royal, NW10 7SF.

If granted we will post notices alerting other motorists of the change and will send the applicant the permit(s) which must must be displayed in the windscreen of the authorised vehicle.

There is no minimum period for which notices must be posted before a change can be implemented.

Cost

The charge for parking suspensions is £44 per bay per day. (Suspensions for Brent Council funded street maintenance is at no cost)

The charge for the early reinstatement of a parking bay that has been suspended is £88.

The charge for the short notice suspension of a parking bay (under 14 days) is £88.

Dispensations

A dispensation temporarily allows parking in a location that is ordinarily not possible, for a maximum dispensation of four hours in every 24 hour period.

If granted, the issued permit(s) must be displayed in the windscreen on the authorised vehicle.

Cost

  • Single Yellow Lines, £27 per period (maximum four hours)
  • Double Yellow Lines, £53 per period (maximum four hours)

No refunds are given. 

An additional fee of £22 will be charged for applications with less than three days.
