London Lorry Control Scheme

The London Lorry Control Scheme controls the movement of heavy good vehicles (HGVs) over 18 tonnes in weight on specific roads in Brent. The scheme prevents HGVs travelling on most of Brent’s residential roads at night and at weekends to minimise noise disturbance to residents.

The restricted hours are:

  • Monday to Friday 9pm to 7am (including 9pm Friday night to 7am Saturday morning)
  • Saturday 1pm to Monday 7am.

If drivers of HGVs need to drive on Brent’s roads during restricted hours, they must apply for a permit to do so. If they don’t, they will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

The London Lorry Control Scheme is managed by London Councils’ on behalf of Brent Council. Visit London Council's website  for more information about the scheme and a list of roads in Brent that can be used during restricted hours.

Residents and businesses operating in Brent should be aware of roads that can be used during restricted hours and plan their routes accordingly to avoid a PCN.
