Woodhouse Urban Park
Woodhouse Urban Park is a key and fundamental feature of the regeneration of South Kilburn. It aims to make the area a better place to live, creating a real sense of place and belonging.
The new urban park features robust play provision, site furniture, new trees and new species. It offers an accessible and welcoming environment for the existing community, the wider community and the general public.
Erect Architecture was appointed to lead on design and specification and delivered a number of community engagement sessions for the new urban park. The Council worked in partnership with the South Kilburn Trust and local residents, local pupils and the OK Club to gather views and ideas for the design of park - which were incorporated into the design proposals. Ground Control Limited were our appointed contractor for the construction of the park.
Brent Council’s urban park officially opened to the public with a celebratory event on Saturday 7 May 2016. On the opening day there were speeches, ribbon cutting, activities for children and more.
Multi-Award Winning Woodhouse Urban Park
Woodhouse Urban Park has won a number of awards since opening. These awards showcase industry recognition of the good work the council has undertaken.

British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI Landscape Awards) 2016
Woodhouse Urban Park won the National Award in the Community Schools and Development Category, and the National and Principal Award for Regeneration at the BALI National Landscape Awards 2016.
These are the premier landscaping awards run by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI). Receiving a BALI National Landscape Award is one of the landscape industries' highest accolades; recognition of a high level of achievement from within the industry.
This was a fantastic achievement for the team working on the South Kilburn Regeneration Programme at Brent Council. Woodhouse Urban Park was already very popular with residents. However, these awards demonstrated industry-wide recognition of the high quality standards of work delivered for the community, which is sustainable in the long-term while creating a sense of place where people love to live.
