Are you concerned about rising electricity bills? Why not borrow an energy monitor for free? Visit Wembley Library and Kingsbury Library to borrow one and find out more.

View the range of monitors available on the tabs on this page; there are three different types to help you monitor your electricity so you can reduce your usage.

Energy monitoring equipment is loaned initially for three weeks and this can be renewed twice. Overdue charges of £1 per day are payable on late returns.

Belkin

Best for: monitoring costs of individual appliances with hard to reach sockets (e.g. fridge)

Not suitable for: monitoring overall electricity usage

Find out how much energy your devices really use - including watts, cost of operation and the amount of CO2 produced in generating the electricity consumed. See at a glance the true impact to your wallet and the environment. It's ideal for those hard to reach appliances with its portable display screen.

If you lose or damage any of the components of the energy monitor or fail to return it within 2 months then you will be liable to pay replacement costs of £19.99

Efergy

Best for: monitoring costs of individual appliances with easy to reach sockets (e.g. kettle)

Not suitable for: monitoring overall electricity usage 

The Efergy Energy Monitoring Socket measures the energy efficiency of your plug-in appliances. Track the kilowatts used by your appliances and find out how much they are costing you. You can then reduce the use of a costly appliance or replace it with a more efficient one.

If you lose or damage any of the components of the energy monitor or fail to return it within 2 months then you will be liable to pay replacement costs of £14.50

OWL

Not suitable for: monitoring costs of individual appliances

OWL is a wireless electricity monitor which shows you just how much total electricity you are using throughout your home- lights, appliances and any electrical heaters. Find how much this is costing you and how much carbon is being generated. It is easy to install, easy to read and easy to use. The memory feature shows you just how much electricity you have used.

If you lose or damage any of the components of the energy monitor or fail to return it within 2 months then you will be liable to pay replacement costs of £57 (monitor and battery charger).

TREC

Best for: both monitoring overall electricity usage and monitoring costs of individual appliances

TREC is a wireless electricity monitor which shows you just how much total electricity you are using throughout your home- lights, appliances and any electrical heaters. Find how much this is costing you and how much carbon is being generated.

It is easy to install, easy to read and easy to use. The memory feature shows you just how much electricity you are currently using. By using the template monitoring table below, you can also use the TREC monitor to calculate costs of individual appliances.

If you lose or damage any of the components of the energy monitor or fail to return it within two months then you will be liable to pay replacement costs of £30.
