The pandemic is affecting everyone differently. For many this will be a tough time and it’s ok to not be ok. Help is available.
Brent Talking Therapies is a free, confidential service for people who may be feeling down or anxious, provided by NHS Central and North West London.
A team of therapists and counsellors are on hand to offer you support, with a range of strategies to help you hope with current situation.
Consultations take place by phone or video call.

Many people may be feeling lonely in lockdown. Lots of Mutual Aid Groups around the borough are offering check in phone calls with people who live locally to you. You can find a list of Mutual Aid Groups in Brent towards the bottom of this page.
British Red Cross COVID-19 support
The British Red Cross national support line is a free and confidential service which can offer you:
- Practical information and advice
- Emotional support
- Connecting you with support in your area
- Food and prescription deliveries to vulnerable households.

The British Red Cross website also has online resources to help you if you are feeling lonely, providing tools to build your confidence, reach out to others and to look to the future.
Support for people aged 70 or over
Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent are offering a new, short-term telephone-based service to support those at risk of loneliness and isolation in these difficult times.
The Call, Chat, Care service phones older people to check they are okay, offer a listening ear and provide support by talking through any issues or concerns troubling them. If required, the team can also support the older person to find the help they need from other key sources.

Brent Mental Health Services Directory
Want to know what mental health services are available for your needs?
Working with service users, the Brent Mental Health Network Partnership have created a booklet which provides a comprehensive list of services to meet the full range of needs of local people. Whether you are worried or anxious and just want someone to talk to, have suffered a bereavement of a loved one or have become unemployed, or you are at crisis point, the booklet will signpost you to the right service to meet your need. It covers services that cater to different age groups from children through to older aged people.
