Applying for your event
After reading our events guide, you can apply for your event online.
Please remember to apply as early as possible for your event to get it approved in time.
A minimum of 8 weeks is required in order for applications to be processed and to ensure all safety provisions are met.
At least a 12 week notice period will be required for events where statutory regulations, such as road closures apply.
Street party and event road closures and parking
We will require a minimum of six weeks notice for street parties and a minimum of eight weeks notice for other events, for approval by the Borough Safety Advisory Group (BSAG) and to carry out the required procedures to close a road.

Our event and street party fees
- Ad-hoc street parties and special events on non-traffic sensitive streets - £200 + VAT
- Regular special events - £1,125 + VAT
- Special events hosted by commercial groups - £1,325 + VAT
- Circus or funfair similar in size or scope to a BSAG Category 2 event : £1000 per day site fee plus £1000 per ‘whole event’ refundable damage deposit.
- Circus or funfair similar in size or scope to a BSAG Category 3 event : or a circus and funfair combined- £2000 per day site fee plus £2000 per ‘whole event’ refundable damage deposit.
Charges for events in our parks
If you want to hold an event in one of our parks there will be a charge of:
- £65 for small events
- £400 -Partial cost recovery of events in parks (ticketed events) up to 600 attendees
- £200 -Partial cost recovery of events in parks (ticketed events) up to 300 attendees
- £900 -Partial cost recovery of events in parks (ticketed events) up to 1000 attendees
- £200 -Reinstatement (Refundable deposit)- category 1
- £1000-Partial cost recovery of events in parks - Category 2
- £500 -Reinstatement (Refundable deposit)- category 2
- £2000-Partial cost recovery of events in parks - Category 3
- £2500-Reinstatement (Refundable deposit)- category 3
For commercial events the charge is by negotiation.
Event organisers will still be required to pay for all traffic orders, deposits, insurance and the relevant licences.
