We are developing an Affordable Workspace Providers List to facilitate the procurement and management of workspace across the borough. As a council, we value the expertise of workspace providers and recognise the crucial role they play in helping to support entrepreneurs and businesses, particularly through the start-up and growth period of their lifecycle, and the socio-economic benefits they can help deliver in an area.
The aim of the Affordable Workspace Providers List is to enable us to build a relationship with workspace providers currently operating in the borough and those who are interested in locating in Brent. The list will be available publically and may be used by the council and developers during the pre-planning application process where developments will include the provision of workspace. We hope that this early engagement between developer and workspace provider could lead to spaces that are designed with the workspace operator’s requirements in mind and can be operational as early as possible after practical completion.
The council will require workspace providers managing space within the borough to provide annual monitoring reports on outputs from the space, including (but not limited to) information on number of members, cost of membership and any community, educational and employment outputs. Providers and members will also be expected to engage with our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team regarding any internship or apprenticeship opportunities that may arise.
Any applications not satisfactorily determined within three months will be declined and the applicant will have the opportunity to reapply.
