Work is on-going in a £40 million scheme to totally rebuild The Crest Girl Academy and The Crest Boys Academies.
The academies are two single-sex schools in Crest Road, Neasden, each with its own principal, sharing one site. They are both sponsored by E-ACT, which is working closely with us and the academies on this project.
Construction work began on 17 December 2011 and will be completed by April 2015.
Contractor Wates Construction Ltd has been offering apprenticeships to local people and there is an emphasis on using local labour and suppliers.
Aims of rebuilding the Crest Academies
The aim of rebuilding the academies is to create institutions with state-of-the art buildings and excellent facilities for students, staff and the whole community.
We want to provide:
- an inspirational place of learning in an attractive, calm and secure environment
- place the academies at the heart of the local community
- have excellent outdoor areas which will serve the needs of the academies and local community
- resources such as a library and theatre with improved community use
