Crest Academies

Work is on-going in a £40 million scheme to totally rebuild The Crest Girl Academy and The Crest Boys Academies.

Artists impression of new Crest AcademiesThe academies are two single-sex schools in Crest Road, Neasden, each with its own principal, sharing one site. They are both sponsored by E-ACT, which is working closely with us and the academies on this project.

Construction work began on 17 December 2011 and will be completed by April 2015.

Contractor Wates Construction Ltd has been offering apprenticeships to local people and there is an emphasis on using local labour and suppliers.

Aims of rebuilding the Crest Academies

The aim of rebuilding the academies is to create institutions with state-of-the art buildings and excellent facilities for students, staff and the whole community.

We want to provide:

  • an inspirational place of learning in an attractive, calm and secure environment
  • place the academies at the heart of the local community 
  • have excellent outdoor areas which will serve the needs of the academies and local community
  • resources such as a library and theatre with improved community use

Form the new vehicle entrance at Dollis Hill Lane, build the new car park, install new three-storey temporary classrooms and set up the building site December 2011 - April 2012
Removal of the existing temporary classrooms and construction of four new multi-storey pavilion buildings plus service roads and landscaped areas April 2012 - Summer 2014
New Academies complete Autumn term 2014
Demolition of the existing buildings and completion of the all-weather sports pitches and all remaining landscaping Summer 2014 - Spring 2015
All work completed on site Spring 2015
