South Kilburn Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO)

If we are unable to reach agreement to buy back your property at open market value, we may begin Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) procedures to make sure the Regeneration Programme continues successfully.

Statement of Case

Notice of Confirmation (10 May 2018)

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government (the "Secretary of State"), in exercise of its powers under the above Acts, on 17 April 2018 confirmed with modifications the London Borough of Brent (South Kilburn Regeneration Phase 2 – Land North of Chippenham Gardens) Compulsory Purchase Order 2016 submitted by the London Borough of Brent (the "Acquiring Authority").

General Vesting Declaration (12 July 2018)

On the 12 July 2018 the Council executed a General Vesting Declaration (GVD) to secure the land and interests subject of the CPO.
The right to possession will vest in the Council, under the GVD, once all notices of the making of the GVD have been served.
The Council will provide confirmation of the vesting date once it has been determined.

Following the making of a General Vesting Declaration by the Council on 12 July 2018, the council has served all necessary notices on affected parties and arranged for notices to be displayed on the Order Land. In consequence, the vesting date arising under the Declaration is 25 October 2018. 

On the vesting date, title together with the right to possession of the land will vest in the council.

Gloucester House and Durham Court - Phase 2b

On 9 May 2014 we made a compulsory purchase order ("the Order") in relation to land surrounding and including Gloucester House and Durham Court, part of Phase 2B of the South Kilburn Regeneration.

On 20 February 2015 the Order was confirmed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government with modifications in respect of the land included within the Order.

Notice of confirmation of the Order and Notice of Intention to make a General Vesting Declaration was published in the Brent & Kilburn Times on 19 March 2015, from which date the Order became operative.
