Neighbourhood heating system
As part of the regeneration of South Kilburn, we are considering the installation of a Neighbourhood Heating System.
This is a cheaper and more efficient way of producing heat and hot water.
The proposed heating network involves hot water being pumped from an energy centre.
This system has already been proven to be very successful. For example, in Denmark, district heating covers more than 60 per cent of central heating and water heating, and in Iceland it is as high as 95 per cent.
An energy supplier will own the district heating system, provide customer care and bill the customers directly. However, the project aims to ensure your new supplier guarantees a cheaper energy rate than your currently pay for heating and hot water.
