The redevelopment site comprising of 1-8 Neville House, 1-64 Winterleys Court, 113-128 Carlton House and Carlton Hall forms part of phase 4 of the South Kilburn regeneration programme. The redevelopment site is often referred to as the ‘NWCC’ redevelopment site.
The scheme has been designed by award winning architects Pollard Thomas Edwards and the wider multi-disciplinary design team and underwent and extensive and inclusive consultation process with existing residents living residents and wider stakeholders.
What will be delivered?
The scheme will compromise of approximately 219 new high-quality homes, new enhanced public realm (including Highway improvements to Neville Road) and enhanced landscaping has been developed. Basement parking to the Private block has also been proposed as part of this scheme. The scheme is intended to deliver approximately 112 new high-quality homes for existing tenants of South Kilburn at affordable social rent.
As part of the South Kilburn Regeneration Decant Strategy existing tenants from Crone Court, Craik Court and Zangwill House are expected to be rehoused within the new development.
What will happen next?
The design for the scheme was submitted for planning in December 2018 and was under review by the local planning authority. During this period, some changes were made to the scheme which where resubmitted in December 2019.
After extensive and careful consideration by the Brent Planning Department and Brent Planning Committee; the application was approved by a unanimous vote on the 18 February 2020.
Now that planning permission has been granted for the scheme, the next phase will be for the Council to work through various legal matters, housing allocation policy and work towards procurement to appoint a delivery partner to redevelop and deliver the scheme.
Please note: the envisaged start on site date are indicative only and are subject to change as part of the redevelopment process. Following the procurement process dates will be shared. Any changes within the project will be communicated to the community.
