Woodhouse Urban Park

Woodhouse Urban Park wins two prestigious industry awards!

Landscape Awards 2016Landscape Awards Principal 2016Built as part of the South Kilburn Regeneration Project, this park won both the National Award in the Community Schools and Development Category, and the National and Principal Award for Regeneration at the BALI National Landscape Awards 2016! These are the premier landscaping awards run by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI). Receiving a BALI National Landscape Award is one of the landscape industries' highest accolades; recognition of a high level of achievement from within the industry.

This is a fantastic achievement for the team working on the South Kilburn Regeneration Programme at Brent Council. Woodhouse Urban Park was already very popular with residents. However, these awards show the industry-wide recognition of the high quality standards and work that has been delivered for the community which is sustainable for the long term, and creates a sense of place where people love to live.

About Woodhouse Park

Ariel view of Woodhouse Urban ParkSouth Kilburn’s brand new urban park, located off Albert Road, officially opened to the public with a celebratory event on Saturday 7 May.

Woodhouse Urban Park is a key feature of the regeneration of South Kilburn which aims to make the area a better place to live. On the opening day there were speeches, ribbon cutting, activities for children and more.

The new urban park features robust play provision, site furniture, new trees and new species. It offers an accessible and welcoming environment for the existing community, the wider community and the general public.

Erect Architecture was appointed to lead on design and specification and delivered a number of community engagement sessions for the new urban park. We worked in partnership with the South Kilburn Trust and local residents, local pupils and the OK Club to gather views and ideas for the design of park which were incorporated into the design proposals.

Ground Control Limited was our appointed contractor for the construction of the park and they have now completed the works. The Park will now go through an establishment period with new turf and shrubs having been laid so we thank you for your patience whilst this process takes place.
