Stories of Brent

This June, past and present residents of Brent will came together to share their stories of what makes Brent so special in a ground breaking new film.
As part of the borough’s ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign, Stories of Brent is part of the drive to instil a sense of pride in the community and encourages residents to take ownership of the borough and the opportunities available.

It’s for this reason that Brent Housing Partnership, together with Brent Council and Oakrays, have reached out and put together Stories of Brent, to celebrate the borough’s diversity and spirit, and build stronger community cooperation.

Stories of Brent is a short, community-based documentary celebrating the things that make Brent special and telling the stories of the people, communities and history of the borough. It brings together residents of all ages, local celebrities and community leaders to talk about their memories of living in Brent and to share why they all love where they live.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, was involved in the film and said:

"I was born and have lived in Brent my whole life, and I take a huge amount of pride in where I live. The sense of community spirit in this borough is really heartening and it's this pride that drives residents of Brent to work hard, day in, day out, to build a better borough for themselves, and for future generations."
The film showcases some big names from the music, television and sporting worlds who were all born and bred in Brent, and are proud to share their stories and memories of growing up in the borough that shaped and encouraged them to succeed.
