Brent's Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy

you decide

Brent Council’s Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) Grant Programme supports regeneration in the borough.

For this round, a £2million NCIL fund will be shared across the five Brent Connects areas (Willesden, Harlesden, Wembley, Kingsbury and Kenton, and Kilburn). Each area will receive £400,000 to spend on local projects. The funding comes from money the council receives from new development in the borough.

The aim of the project is to put the residents at the heart of the decision making, which is why we'll be trialling a new method called Participatory Budgeting (PB), where residents will be in control of deciding where to spend the NCIL grant fund. The council’s trial PB Programme is called ‘YOU Decide’.

We will be inviting local groups and organisations to submit ideas for projects. Your project idea should be designed to make Brent a better place by allowing new and existing communities to connect and remain a cohesive community, at this key time where new developments and new communities are forming in the borough.

This autumn we will be sharing more details about how to apply at a series of workshops. For more information, email youdecide@brent.gov.uk.
