Skills Academy

Our Skills Academy can help you grow, and this is how. The Brent ASC Skills Academy is a dedicated function within the department that focuses on meeting the learning and development needs of the Adult Social Care workforce

In addition to all the mandatory core training you would expect to have access to for your role, Skills Academy also offers the following for permanent members of Brent staff:

  • opportunities to personally apply for relevant fully funded training and qualifications
  • 4 fully funded qualification options such as AHMP, Practice Educator and Social Work & OT Apprenticeships
  • 2 dedicated ‘Practice weeks’ a year where we host a whole week of bite sized webinars from subject matter experts, talking about topics that matter to you
  • 6 ‘Champion’ roles to apply for each year on important subjects such as domestic abuse and mental capacity - each comes with a £1000 personal development budget
