Hi, I’m Tesh and I am currently in my first placement with the Community Safety Team. This team covers a wide range of areas including anti-social behaviour and CCTV Enforcement.

I am currently working on rolling out the Women’s Night Safety Charter in Brent. The charter is part of the Mayor’s Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and London’s commitment to the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces global initiative. Brent decided to go beyond signing the charter and create a tailored training session for night-time economy venues who agreed to sign up to and support the charter. We are currently in the phase of creating the training session and collating the associated information to go with it.

Despite being from London and my own borough being a part of the graduate scheme, Brent was my first choice. Brent is such a diverse borough which in itself celebrates a wide range of cultures, languages and values. I was also drawn to the prospect of a third year which is guaranteed at Brent, as it allows you to really think about your future without rushing into a job.

I have had some previous experience working in local government and it is a career I am passionate about. The NGDP scheme allows me to make contributions to the community whilst developing my understanding of Local government and its different service areas via the rotations.
