Why do I need to register again?

We have moved onto a new My Account portal, which works seamlessly with the online service accounts that are already available to our customers, and will make it easier for us to give you access to even more council services in one place with one sign in.

What happens to my information from the previous My Account service?

So that your personal details are protected during the move to the new system, your previous My Account data has been permanently deleted.  

Why do you recommend that I use the same email address? 

Using the same email address to re-register means you will be able to view the history of past transactions you have made for most services. It will also help us to keep a single record of your contact with us so we can improve and tailor our service to you. 

However, if you no longer have access to the email address you registered on My Account, you can create a new account using a different email address, and register again for the services which you would like to view.

Can I access the same services as I did before?

Once you re-register then all services will be available as before, but you may have to re-activate some online services.

For example, if you use the same email address to re-register then you will be able to access your activity history for the following services:

  • Housing 
  • Complaints
  • Contact Us

If you use a different email address to re-register then you will no longer have access to the history, and will have to re-activate the accounts for the services you want to access.

For the following services, you will need to re-activate your accounts and will no longer have access to any activity history prior to 4 December 2020:

  • Housing Benefit & Council Tax support
  • Council Tax

What are the new features or benefits I should know about?

The new My Account portal is easier for you to use and includes Multi-Factor Authentication, a level of security which you may have used before for online banking and other online accounts. 

You will also be able to:

  • Update your personal details
  • Reset your password
  • Login once to access all available services in one place
