Working together to improve services in adult social care and health.
Coproduction is when individuals or groups of people help shape the support and services they receive. It it involves working together equally to create services that work well for everyone.
In Brent Adult Social Care, we want to work with residents, service users, carers, and professionals to improve our services. We are using our work with the community to make a better plan for working together and create a formalised approach to co-production and community partnership.
Coproduction Champions are individuals who come from a diverse background that reflects the diversity of Brent communities. They are individuals with lived experience, family carers, members of community groups and council employees who work together to influence the design, commissioning, and delivery of services.
They can sign up to a pledge, receive training and support, and participate in coproduction events and projects.

Being a Coproduction Champion involves a range of rewarding tasks and project. The activities will change depending on priorities, for example, Coproduction Champions can:
Coproduction Champions may also sit on our Coproduction Advisory Board that meets four times a year.

Coproduction events and activities include visiting local community groups and forums, conducting workshops and community walks and to gather feedback from residents, customers, and carers to co-create solutions to help improve services.

The Framework for Evaluating Change

The Framework for Evaluating Change was introduced by Claudia Brown, Director of Adult Social Services..
It uses lived experience and storytelling to drive change at individual, family, service and neighbourhood levels.
These stories provide insight alongside data and help drive learning, reflection and improvement for people involved in change and transformation initiatives.
Through collaborative learning, co‑design and co‑production, the framework supports ongoing improvement and was co‑produced with customers and carers in Brent.
Its development was supported by Professor Fiona Verity (Brunel University), Brent Carers Centre, the Social Care Institute of Excellence, and the Brent ASC Transformation team.
