The Abbey Road Household Reuse and Recycling Centre is available to residents who want to recycle or dispose of bulky items and general household rubbish. It is managed by the West London Waste Authority on behalf of Brent Council. You will need to book a slot in advance, if you need to visit the Abbey Road Household Reuse and Recycling Centre.
Pre-booking in advance is encouraged to minimise waiting times. If you have not pre-booked your slot, you will be able to book in on arrival but there may be delays at busy times. Pre-bookings are required to produce confirmation/reference on arrival.
What you can take to the Centre
You can dispose of most household waste free of charge at the recycling centre. Cars are only permitted on site for a maximum of 30 minutes so please sort your materials before your visit.
Where possible, we ask that you donate items in good condition to a charity shop. Examples include:
- Clothing and paired shoes
- Furniture
- Electronics and appliances
- Bicycles
- Books
The following items will not be accepted:
- asbestos
- chemicals
- gas bottles
- oil based paints or varnishes
- tyres - please take these to local garages
Chargeable items
There is a charge for the following non-household waste:
- All building and demolition material including plasterboard, tiles, windows, doors, timber and wooden flooring
- Bricks, rubble, stones and hardcore
- Bathroom suites and fittings
- Fencing, sheds and paving
- Kitchen units, sinks and fittings
- Soil and turf
If you are unsure whether the items you have taken to the site attract a charge please ask staff before you start unloading your vehicle. These items will only be accepted between 8am and 4pm
If you are paying to dispose of your waste, please make sure that you arrive at the site and complete payment before 3.30pm.
Trade waste
Any tradesperson or business that wishes to dispose of or recycle waste will have to pay a fee. You will find details of trade prices on the West London Waste Authority website.
