3.1 The Competition is only open to all residents of the London Borough of Brent aged 18 years or over, except employees or relatives of employees of the Council.
3.2 In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Council may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition by providing a proof of address (such as a utility bill).
3.3 The Council will not accept Competition entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer;
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
(d) incomplete
3.4 There is a limit of one entry per household.
3.5 The Council reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition.
- The prize
4.1 Each selected winner will have their garden waste subscription (£69.00) reimbursed and will receive a £50.00 voucher to be spent on the Royal Horticultural Society website.
4.2 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
4.3 In order to claim the prize you must follow the Competition rules and comply with these Terms and Conditions. - Winner announcement
5.1 The Council will contact the winner via the contact details provided on their subscription within 28 days of the Closing Date. The winner will be required to respond within 28 days or a new winner will be selected.
5.2 The Council will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 28 days of the winner being announced, the Council reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant. The next eligible entrant will be selected at random.
5.3 The decision of the Council is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. - Claiming the prize
6.1 Please allow 28 days from the date of your response for the Council to refund the value of the subscription to you.
6.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf. - Limitation of liability
7.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Council will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damages, costs, claims, proceedings or expenses incurred as a result of taking up the prize or participating in the Competition, except that nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude the Council's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. - Data protection and publicity
By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used only by the Council to administer the Competition. - General
9.1 The Council reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize Competition where the Council reasonably believes it is necessary to do so. Any changes will be communicated via the Brent Council website accessible at www.brent.gov.uk.
9.2 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed with English law.
1.1 Brent Council (herein referred to as the “Council”) are conducting a prize draw for garden waste subscribers. The title of the competition is Garden Waste Service Annual Subscription Prize Draw 2026 (herein referred to as the “Competition”).
1.2 The purpose of the Competition and the prize consists of the refund of the yearly subscription worth £69 and a Royal Horticultural Society Voucher worth £50 to three winners.
2.1 The Competition will run from (1 January 2026 at 00.01am) (the "Opening Date") to (16 March 2026 at 12.00pm) (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
2.2 All Competition entries must be received by the Council via the respective channels as provided within clause 2.3 below by the Closing Date. All Competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
2.3 You can enter the Competition by (subscribing to the garden waste collection service).
2.4 Any eligible individual completing a new subscription to the garden waste collection service before the Closing Date will automatically be entered into the Competition.
2.5 The Council will not accept:
(a) responsibility for Competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Competition.
2.6 By submitting a Competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
