If you want to register your building for worship or become licensed for civil marriages or partnerships you will need to apply for a licence.
The application process is straightforward and our Registration Services team can provide help and advice if needed.
The fee for a licence varies according to the capacity of the venue (see table below) and is valid for a minimum of 3 years. You will be listed as an approved venue for civil ceremonies during that time.
You can apply to renew your grant of approval if it expires in less than a year.
