Supporting employment and inclusive growth across Brent
Brent’s Good Work Standard is a key part of the Council’s commitment to making Brent a better place to work and do business. The programme has been developed to support local employers in fostering fair, inclusive, and high-quality employment across the borough.
This free, year long accreditation programme enables Brent-based businesses to enhance workplace practices, improve employment standards, and gain formal recognition as Brent Good Work Standard accredited employers.
Since its pilot launch, participating organisations: including HS2, Southern Interiors, Innovative Opportunities, Garden Studios, Motherlee Gardens, Young Brent Foundation, and Blue Check have taken part in quarterly sessions centred around four core pillars:
- London living wage: commitment to the London Living Wage (LLW)
- Workplace wellbeing: promoting a healthy and supportive working environment
- Diversity and recruitment: embedding inclusive and equitable hiring practices
- Skills and progression: enabling staff development and career advancement
Council officers provide ongoing guidance, resources, and evaluation throughout the programme to support participating employers in achieving accreditation and sustaining good work practices.
