The organisations listed below have a specific role in law in respect of licence applications made under the Licensing Act 2003.
These organisations are know as responsible authorities and are statutory consulates for applications for the:
- Premises Licence
- Club Premises Certificate
- Provisional Statements
- Variation of Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate (excluding minor variations)
- Review of a Premises Licence / Club Premises Certificates.
Any responsible authorities may make a representation about any application subject to consultation.
Any representation must relate to one or more of the four licensing objectives which are:
- the prevention of public nuisance
- the protection of children from harm
- the prevention of crime and disorder
- public safety.
