Wembley two-way working project: Phase Two

In December 2022 the Council consulted on Phase 1 of this scheme, which outlined our proposals for a public realm and junction improvement scheme in South Way junction to First Way near the Wembley Stadium Area, which includes the London Designer Outlet (LDO), Wembley Arena and the Pink Parking.

The scheme proposal included:

• footpath improvements
• a new parallel zebra crossing on First Way
• safer cycling facilities to encourage and enable people to use sustainable transport
• road narrowing and speed reduction to assist pedestrians crossing the road and improving road safety for all road users

In Phase 2 we are proposing to implement a two-way traffic system on First Way to continue improving accessibility in the Wembley Industrial Estate.

Proposed improvement include:

• Implementation of two-way traffic on First Way to improve accessibility to the local area.
• Subject to the outcome of the TfL consultation relocation of bus stand 440 to Great Central Way from First Way.
• Improved public transport accessibility to North End Road, Fulton Road, Atlas Road and Hannah Close (Subject to TfL Consultation and approval).
• Subject to the outcome of the TfL consultation, the introduction of 8 new bus stops and 1 new bus stand within the Wembley Industrial Estate.

The Phase 2 public consultation is an opportunity to comment on the scheme

We have been working with Transport for London (TfL) to review local bus services in the area. Between March and April 2023 TfL held a public public consultation on the changes to bus routes 92, 206 and 440 in the Wembley Stadium area.
