Alumina (formerly known as Selfharm UK) is a free, online support programme for young people aged 10-17 who are struggling with self-harm. It offers a safe space to explore your feelings, learn coping strategies, and take steps toward recovery.
How it works:
- Each course runs for 7 weeks and includes up to 14 young people from across the UK. You can join from your phone, tablet, or computer.
- Sessions take place on different evenings during the week, making it easier to fit around your schedule.
- You’ll take part using a chatbox - no video or audio so no one will see or hear you. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
- Courses are led by trained counsellors and youth workers who are there to support you in a non-judgemental and understanding way.
- You don’t need an adult to sign you up or refer you. You can register yourself directly.
