This service is made up of a team of dedicated doctors, nurses and administrators who aim to promote the health and wellbeing of children and young people who are being looked after by Brent Council.
The team is responsible for co-ordinating and arranging statutory health assessments for children and young people in the care of the council to ensure they can enjoy the best possible health outcomes.
The current statutory requirements are:
- an initial health assessment should be completed within four weeks of a child or young person becoming looked after
- health assessment reviews for children aged under five years old should take place every six months
- health assessment reviews for children and young people over five years old should take place annually
