Who we are
All local authorities must give young people with SEND access to information, advice and support. Brent SENDIASS provides this by offering free, impartial and confidential support through our helpline, email and online resources.
What we do
We support young people aged 16–25 who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your parents or carers can be included if you want them to be.
If you are a young person with SEND living in Brent, we can help you with:
- Answer your questions about school, health and social care. For example, we can answer questions about your EHC Plan or assessment.
- Make sure your voice is heard by helping you prep for school or college meetings and speak up to teachers or other professionals.
- support with understanding documents and help you to complete forms.
- Find out about other local organisations and support available to you.
Individual support
We may also offer one-to-one support with a SENDIASS officer. This depends on your enquiry and is decided case by case. The aim is to make sure your views are heard so you can actively contribute to your case.
What we don't do
- make decisions for you or others
- help you with other problems - our role is to support you with SEND issues
- write reports
