Brent Music Service runs the Brent Concert Band which rehearses and performs a repertoire of classical music, film music and much more. This ensemble gives regular concerts and has even performed a world premier of an Olympic inspired composition at Wembley Arena.
What we do
The BMS Concert Band is a fantastic way to further develop your playing skills in a group environment. Working as part of a larger team offers a brilliant contrast to your individual instrument practice and is a fun way to learn a wider repertoire and make new friends.
The band performs regularly around the borough and has successfully competed at national festivals across the UK. The concert band went on a concert tour to Italy in 2015, took part in the World Music Championships in Kerkrade in 2017 and will be going on a concert tour to France in summer 2020

How to join
Firstly, your playing standard needs to be at a minimum equivalent of Grade 5-6. You must meet the required playing standard on an appropriate instrument through a simple audition process. Alternatively, you may also be invited to attend through your BMS instrument tutor if you have one.
We also welcome enquiries from players who do not learn with a BMS tutor or who live in Brent but do not attend a Brent school.
