The Brent Youth String Orchestra rehearses and performs a repertoire of music from classical to film and TV to contemporary and traditional, and much more.
The orchestra gives regular concerts, has performed at Wembley Arena and enjoyed a collaborative project with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. They toured France in 2014 and will be participating in a BMS concert tour to France in the summer of 2020
What we do
This string orchestra is a fantastic way to further develop your playing skills in a group environment. A great way to experience new sounds and an endless range of musical styles from all eras.
Instruments included
Following the format of a traditional string orchestra, the Brent Youth String Orchestra includes violins, violas, cellos and Double Bass.
Age group
It is open to all 11 to 19 year olds who meet the entry requirements.
Cost
Annual membership is £90.

How to join
Playing standard needs to be at a minimum equivalent of Grade 5 for violin and Grade 4 for cello and viola. Entry is through a simple audition process. Alternatively, you may also be invited to attend through your BMS instrument tutor if you have one through your school.
