Roundwood Youth Centre will be opening its doors as a new school and community centre in January 2021. The school will cater for children and young people aged 11 to 16 who are subject to fixed term exclusions, or whose needs cannot be met in mainstream provision. When full, it will be able to accommodate up to 50 pupils.
Beckmead Trust will be running the new school and community centre and is working with local people to develop what will be on offer to young people, both during and outside of the school day.
The trust is looking for a range of people who would be interested in lettings at the new community centre and working with young people at the new school. This could be offering sport, drama, dance, art or other opportunities. Facilities would be offered free of charge, in exchange for occasional small group tuition in school.
