Thames Reach supports homeless, vulnerable and isolated men and women through a range of services, activities and accommodation projects.
Our aim is for the people we help to have decent homes, supportive relationships and fulfilling lives.
Finding work plays a key role in helping people on their journey away from homelessness.
Thames Reach runs a range of schemes helping formerly homeless people find work.
Boosting people’s self-confidence and developing their skills and experience play a vital role in helping people get a job.
Thames Reach helps people to take up training, education, volunteering and work opportunities. This raises people's self-esteem and combats isolation and depression. For many, it will lead to financial independence.
We help people into mainstream training and work, but also run schemes that offer more specialised support. These include:
The farm project, which gives people who have experienced homelessness the chance to spend time working at an organic farm in Sussex.
I-Reach offers people with little or no computer skills the opportunity to learn at their own pace.
The literacy support service helps formerly homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded men and women to improve their reading and writing skills.
Jumpstart provides personalised action plans to people living in selected L&Q housing in order to help them get back into work.
Moving In Moving On (MIMO) is Thames Reach’s painting and decorating course for long-term unemployed, homeless and vulnerable men and women.
The Peer Advisor Service helps people develop the skills and training needed to find employment.
Step Up – the Upwardly Mobile Network, is a service to help people in low-paid jobs learn new skills and find better work with better pay.
The travel volunteering scheme helps homeless and vulnerable people to build their self-confidence, develop new skills and find opportunities for suitable employment.
Volunteering into Employment provides on-the-job experience and training to people who are close to finding work but need a final helping hand.
The Work Ready Programme is a week long course of activities followed by an ongoing mentoring scheme to help participants acquire the skills they are likely to need once in employment.
Thames Reach BBO Programme supports vulnerable individuals by removing barriers to work improving employability and helping people gain sustainable employment. The BBO programme is engaging and providing targeted interventions and advice and guidance which enhance individual’s motivation along with bespoke training and support into employment.
