Celebrate Kinship Care Week from 6 - 12 October 2025!
It’s a time to recognise the incredible role kinship carers play in children’s lives and in our communities. Kinship carers are grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins and family friends who give children loving and stable homes while keeping them connected to their families, roots and communities.
Across England and Wales, more than 141,000 children are growing up in kinship families. While it can be challenging and sometimes with little support, kinship care is full of love, strength and resilience. Kinship Care Week is a chance to celebrate kinship families, raise awareness of their experiences and remind carers they are part of a strong and supportive community.
That is why, this year, we’re raising a teacup to kinship families everywhere, a simple way to celebrate their dedication and love. Join us in spreading the word so that together we can ensure every kinship carer feels recognised, supported and connected.
