Notting Hill Carnival returns on Sunday 30 and Monday August 31 2026.
We are expecting a very busy bank holiday weekend across the carnival area and our parks as we lead up to the event. Make sure you are aware of road closures and help us to create a safe event space.

A Traffic Management Order (TMO) will be in place over the Bank Holiday weekend which will include the following measures. Letters will be sent to all affected residents.

The arrangements include providing residents in these streets with a concession to park in the neighbouring CPZ to help alleviate the difficulties caused by these measures. The same measures as in previous years will be implemented and, as follows:
The above measures will apply on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August 2026.
All ‘no parking’ cones will be removed by Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
There will be two road closures in Brent during the Notting Hill Carnival weekend.
The first road closure in Kensal Rise will not permit vehicle access to Station Terrace from Chamberlayne Road or Linden Avenue. Residents who live on the section of Station Terrace opposite Kensal Rise station, will not be permitted to park at this location, as there will be parking suspensions in place.
Please note, local residents will be able to access sections of the Kensal Rise road closure if they provide a letter or identification with an address that falls within the road closure. Access through the closure will not be permitted to residents, alternative routes will need to be used.
The second road closure in Harlesden will not permit access to Craven Park Road for vehicles. Access will be restricted from Manor Park Road. Residents who live on the section of Craven Park Road where the road closure is, will not be permitted to park at this location, as there will be parking suspensions in place.
Additional Parking enforcement will operate in the immediate streets surrounding Notting Hill Carnival. This will include Harrow Road, Chamberlayne Road, Kilburn Lane, Banister Road and Mortimer Road where parking will be suspended. The Parking enforcement team will be on site from 7am until 11pm.
There will be additional enforcement in the wider footprint including Kensal Rise, Kensal Green and Queens Park.
In addition to the above, there will be an additional resource allocated to Harlesden throughout the day, with a specific focus from 5pm where a higher number of vehicles are expected to be in the area.
There will be a tow truck resource in place specifically for the Notting Hill Carnival.
Portable toilets will be provided as per previous years at the following locations:
3 of the above toilets will be disabled toilets.
Brent Council is providing additional CCTV cameras around the areas most affected by those visiting the Carnival.
The CCTV control room will monitor mobile and fixed CCTV assets around the carnival footprint and other priority areas in the Borough. This will include an additional Police resource.
The CCTV control room staff have a direct link into the policing operational command for policing carnival.
Managers will be on the footprint throughout the Notting Hill Carnival event and will manage any issues that arise.
Our Senior Management will also be available should any matters escalate.
Having worked closely with Councillors, who have spoken to local residents, we have managed to increase Police presence. The focus of these operations are detailed below.
There will be a specialist Licensing Police team available to respond to any Licensing contraventions.
This year we have additional Police in our neighbouring borough Westminster. They will support our Brent Policing team where necessary.
Partnership working with other local Boroughs has included engaging with young people to work around any potential vulnerabilities or gang membership, putting Brent in the best possible position ahead of the Carnival weekend.

If a knife is located on or near your property, below is detailed information on how this can be dealt with.
Brent has seven knife amnesty bins across the borough, delivered in partnership with the Raheem Sterling Foundation and Word4Weapons. These bins provide a safe, discreet and anonymous way to surrender illegal or unwanted knives.
A dedicated ninja sword amnesty bin is also available at Willesden Community Gardens (Denzil Road, NW10). Funded by the Home Office, it has been specially designed to accept larger bladed weapons, including ninja swords and machetes. It can also be used to dispose of standard knives.
You can also get in touch with your local Councillor during the weekend, who will notify Brent Council. Where possible the Police will then be directed to collect the weapon from you.
