The Brent Additional Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licensing scheme will expire on 31 January 2025.
The Additional HMO Licence applies to privately rented properties occupied by three or four people from two or more households. Properties with more than four people from two or more households will continue to fall under the mandatory HMO licensing scheme, which remains unchanged.
What does this mean for you?
- You won’t need to apply for a new Additional HMO Licence after 1 February 2025. Our website will no longer accept new applications for this licence.
What we're doing
- We're working on proposals for renewing the Additional HMO Licensing scheme
- All new and renewal licence applications received before 1 February 2025, will be processed
- Existing licences remain valid until their expiry date.
