About the school/nursery
Hopscotch nursery is an Outstanding nursery, and we are well established nursery based in Queens Park. We have a mixed and dynamic team and looking to expand with a new exciting team member.
Nursery hours will be from 8:30-5:30 staff are offered an hour lunch with a two 15-minute break a day. All key workers have non-contact time to catch up with children observation and weekly planning. The nursery is closed 5 weeks of the year, 1 week at Easter, 3 weeks in August and 1 week at Christmas.
Job details
The right candidate needs to be qualified NVQ Level 3 or above childcare qualification. You need to be able to demonstrate a full working knowledge of the EYFS and be able to demonstrate this knowledge at the interview stage.
The day-to-day responsibilities will be to observe and document children's daily activities, create exciting age-appropriate activities for the children in your room, listen and engage in an appropriate manner with the children in your care. Promote positive relationships and interaction between all adults and children involved in the setting to ensure parents/carers are well informed of their children’s progress and are always welcome in the nursery. Also, work in partnership with parents providing a positive learning experience for all children regardless of race, culture or religious background.
The key worker will have responsibility for some key children and needs to document the children's progress on a weekly basis & create termly written reports in EY log. You will be role modelling your knowledge and best practice to colleagues and delivering the best learning opportunities to the children.
The person
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with young children. You should have a good understanding of the EYFS, be a team player, and be able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. A positive attitude and a passion for supporting children’s learning and development are essential.
