The school
At North Stars Nursery, we seek individuals who are deeply dedicated to childcare. We provide continuous in-house training and numerous external training opportunities to empower our staff in honing their skills for optimal childcare, specifically tailored for children aged 2 to 5.

We expect our candidates to possess a solid understanding of the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, Birth to 5 matters, and the early years curriculum, with a strong emphasis an safeguarding.

Desired NVQ Level 3 in Childcare
Paediatric First Aid
Enhanced DBS, on the update system (Preferably)
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time-keeping

The role
Safeguarding and Supervision
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Supervise and engage children in appropriate activities.
Curriculum Planning and Implementation
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs.
- Foster developmental aspects like creativity, cognition, and social skills.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Follow health and safety regulations and administer basic first aid.
Observation and Assessment:
- Regularly observe and assess children's development.
- Keep records of progress and address any concerns.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and attend meetings
- Contribute to the overall development of the nursery.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about early childhood education best practices (EYFS Statutory framework, Birth to 5 matters, safeguarding).
- Attend workshops and pursue continuous professional development.
Adaptability:
- Be flexible and adjust teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
