Job details
We are seeking a highly organise, efficient and proactive Finance Assistant to support the smooth running of our school’s financial operations. Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will help ensure our financial processes are accurate, timely and compliant with statutory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance skills within a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- processing purchase orders, invoices and payments
- maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month end processes
- assisting with budget monitoring and reporting
- managing petty cash and school income
- supporting audit preparation with suppliers, staff and external partners
- liaising professionally with suppliers, staff and external partners
- ensuring financial procedures follow SFVS, GDPR and Brent Council requirements
- you will be supported by the School Business Manager and will work as part of a friendly, values-led administrative team.
The person
We are looking for someone who:
- has experience in finance, bookkeeping or administrative rolls
- is confident using financial systems and Microsoft Office
- has excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- communicates clearly and professionally
- can manage deadlines and work independently
- demonstrates integrity, confidentiality and a commitment to safeguarding
