The Nursery
We are a Montessori nursery, open all year round, with good bus and underground/over ground transport links. Car park space available.
The role
You would be a key person to a group of children attending to all their developmental needs. You would be expected to support children to follow the daily routine, taking the lead in your daily key group times, supporting children’s development in their free play and in focused activities, making written observations on children, assessing their progress, and planning next steps and learning opportunities in the moment, for the following week, and for the weeks ahead in medium term planning meetings. You would need to work cooperatively with the manager and fellow practitioners to attend meetings to reflect on your practice, review the environment and the daily routines, and discuss the needs of the children to plan suitable and stimulating experiences for the children in your care, ensuring enabling environments and positive relationships with the children and adults at the nursery.
You would be supported to grow in your role and throughout your journey at the nursery by a hands-on manager who has Early Teacher Status (level 6), I also lead on group times as well.
I would be open to offering the role as a term time position to the right person for the role.
The person
Looking for someone who is responsible and reliable with a caring and warm disposition who can patiently tune into the needs of young children aged 2 to 4 years of age, to support them to meet their learning and developmental needs. You would need to be friendly, approachable and adaptable, with a good work ethic and positive attitude.
