The National Health Service celebrated its 75th anniversary on 5 July 2023. Founded in 1948, the NHS was the first universal health system in the world available to all, free at the point of delivery.
With a continuing commitment to provide care for all, the NHS remains one of the UK’s proudest achievements.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS this exhibition details the medical facilities the people of Brent had both prior to the NHS and its early years with portrait photographs.
The exhibition of images provides an opportunity to explore the healthcare system in Brent in the early 20th century.
You can see the collections from Brent Museum and Archives from Friday 14 July in Kingsbury Library.
