A selection of archival material is readily available to view in the Search Room.
There is no need to book an appointment, you are welcome to drop in and use the materials available in the search room. These are:
- Local pamphlet boxes
- Newspaper cuttings
- Local history reference books
- Street directories
- Electoral registers
- Newspapers on microfilm
In the Search Room you can also speak to our friendly Heritage Assistants, who are very knowledgeable and can assists with enquiries on family and local area history. They can provide guidance on how to use the archive materials and specialist equipment like the microfilm readers.
If you wish to view any material from the collections stores, this must be booked in advance.
