An exhibition celebrating the arrival of an ancient statue of the elephant-headed god Ganesha in Brent from the British Museum.
Brent Museum & Archives has worked in partnership with Willesden Temple and the wider community to create an interactive display inspired by this beautiful statue.
Funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the exhibition has been created through community workshops led by artist Kirsty Harris and will include a public art piece made in collaboration with Mahogany Carnival Arts.
The Celebrating Ganesha in Brent Project marks the 70th anniversary of Indian Independence, the UK-India Year of Culture 2017 and forms part of the British Museum’s South Asia Season.
