This exhibition ‘Exploring the Diversity of Black Muslims in London’ provides a unique insight to the under-represented voices of Black-African and the Afro-Caribbean Muslim community in Britain. The exhibition is an embodiment of inter-generational memories and experiences of life in Britain as a Black Muslim in London from the 1960s to the present-day.
The exhibition was put together by collecting oral history interviews and photographs from a cross-section of the community and will be available to researchers as an archive collection including video footage of several events and performances involving the community, at Brent Museums and Archives as well as the George Padmore Institute.
The exhibition was sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
