1 April 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the thirty-two London boroughs: 12 inner London and 20 outer London. One of these boroughs was Brent.
This exhibition of images from Brent Museum and Archives provides an opportunity to explore some of the roles that the new governance structure undertook.
Brent Council has influenced many lives over the past 50 years by shaping local neighbourhoods, investing in social housing and local transport, delivering public and environmental health services, and supporting children’s education.
The 50th anniversary is being celebrated through events and projects all over London. Film London has curated a selection of heritage films featuring many of the London boroughs, including Brent.
The exhibition is on display in the Brent Civic Centre on the ground floor until the end of July. Due to the general election the space is not available from 7 to 10 May.
